Here is the FG TVET application portal process for a successful application.

Start Your Application

Begin by visiting the official FG TVET portal: www.tvet.education.gov.ng. Scroll through the website to read important instructions, eligibility criteria, and available program details. This step ensures that you are fully informed before proceeding. Once you are ready, scroll back to the top of the page and click the “Apply” button to start your application.

Identity Verification

The first step in the application process is identity verification. You will be required to enter your National Identification Number (NIN) and date of birth. The system will verify your information within a few seconds. This step helps authenticate your identity and ensures that the application is linked to your official records.

Creating Your Account

Once your identity is verified, you will be prompted to create an account. Your phone number will appear automatically — update it if necessary. Next, enter your email address and click Proceed. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to you via SMS and email. Enter the OTP, create a secure password, and click Proceed once again. You now have an account on the portal.

Logging In

Use your newly created credentials to log in to your personal dashboard on the TVET portal. This will grant you access to your application profile, where you will complete the next steps.

Personal Information

Upon logging in, your basic personal details (such as your full name and date of birth) will automatically populate the form, based on your NIN data. You will then be required to provide additional details, including your home address, state, and local government area (LGA). Once these fields are filled out correctly, click Proceed.

Financial Verification

Next, the portal will request your Bank Verification Number (BVN) and account number. Select your bank from a drop-down menu and click Proceed. The system will verify that your bank records match your NIN details. This verification step ensures that any financial benefits or allowances tied to the program can be processed accurately.

Choosing Your Skill Path

At this stage, you will be asked to select your preferred skill path. There are two main options:

  • 6-Month Program: Choose your preferred skill from the drop-down list and complete a short survey to help match you to the right training center.
  • 12-Month Program: In addition to selecting your preferred skill and completing the survey, you will be required to upload proof of education (such as a certificate or transcript).

Choose the program that best aligns with your career goals and proceed to the next step.

Review and Submit

After completing all required sections, you will arrive at the summary page. Carefully review your application to ensure all the information is accurate and complete. Once you are satisfied, click Submit. Your application is now officially entered into the FG TVET system.

Dashboard and Notifications

Upon submission, you will be redirected to your personal dashboard. Here, you can monitor the status of your application and view your unique application ID. The system will notify you via SMS or email when you are successfully matched to a nearby training center, based on your selected skill path and location.

Final Steps

Once you receive your matching notification, follow the provided instructions to begin attending your training program at the assigned center. This marks the beginning of your journey toward gaining valuable technical and vocational skills that can transform your future.
